Spain snatch tense quarter final
Spain are into the Semi-Finals of Euro 2008, after defeating Italy 4-2 on penalties.
Arsenal’s midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas scored the winning penalty, after what can only be described as a dire match.
However, Spain’s hero was most probably goalkeeper Iker Casillas, with the Real Madrid stopper saving 2 penalties in the shootout to set up Fabregas’ winning spotkick.
It was Spain who had come closest to scoring in normal time too, with Senna seeing a shot parried onto the post by Buffon.
And it was his side who went on to prevail - breaking the curse of June 22nd which has seen them go out of 3 previous international tournaments.
